Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, Royals Charities, and Santander Arena today announced the they will jointly host the Ninth Annual 'Swing Into the Season' Charity Golf Tournament for the Chet Perfetto Cup on Monday, October 20, at Heidelberg Country Club in Bern Township, Pennsylvania, with the tournament’s shotgun start scheduled for 11:00 am.
The tournament, which is played in a foursome ‘scramble’ format and teams a Royals’ player with three other golfers, is a charitable event for Royals Charities. Total cost for participation in the golf tournament, which includes access to the Heidelberg driving range, eighteen holes of golf cart and fees, and the Chet Perfetto Cup Presentation Dinner after the round of golf is $450.00 for a threesome or $150.00 per golfer. Companies can sponsor one of the 18 holes on the golf course that day for just $100.00. Prizes will be awarded for a variety of skills competitions held during the golf round, including a putting contest, closest to the hole on all par threes, and a long drive contest. The Royals open the 2014-15 season on Saturday, October 18, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will face the Wheeling Nailers. The home portion of the schedule will kick off the following Saturday (October 25, 2014 @ 7:05 pm) when the Elmira Jackals travel to Santander Arena. Royals’ season tickets are currently available.
