Drew Bell Named Team President of Reading Royals

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL today announced that Drew Bell has been named the team president. Bell will oversee all aspects of the organization’s business operations. He will begin his role with the team immediately.

The Royals’ owner, Jack Gulati, stated, “I’m very pleased to entrust Drew with running the day-to-day business operations of the Royals. His business acumen, strong work ethic, dynamic personality, dedication to customer service, commitment to the Greater Reading Region, and passion for the sport of hockey make him the perfect candidate to lead our staff in the quest for excellence in all phases of our operations.”

Royals Head Coach Larry Courville noted, “I want to welcome Drew and congratulate him on his new position with our team. I look forward to working with him as we continue our efforts to bring another championship to our fans and the City of Reading.”

Bell stated, “I’m genuinely honored and thrilled with the opportunity and challenge presented by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Royals. I certainly want to thank Mr. Gulati for showing faith in my abilities to undertake this role with the team. I would also like to reach out to the members of our community, and particularly our team’s amazing fan base, and ensure you that we are committed to continuing our efforts to bring championship hockey to our town, while upgrading and improving the entire experience of being a part of the Royals’ family.”

“We have already started the process of focusing on a handful of key objectives and strategies to make sure we meet them for the upcoming season.  I have three P’s for success: people, planning, and procedures.  One of the most impressive things I’ve noticed about our team is the people we have internally that make everything ‘go’.  We are blessed to have the people we do. The other two P’s are in the works and coming together faster than I anticipated.  I’m confident we will have a very successful season in ‘14-‘15.”

For the past four years, Bell (31) who was born and raised in Radnor, Pennsylvania, has served as General Counsel, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Marketing Officer for SafetyCare Technologies, a Reading-area healthcare and security business which was owned by Mr. Gulati and sold to his sons in 2012. Bell, a life-long hockey enthusiast who played for the club team Penn State University-Brandywine, earned his law degree at Widener University after completing his undergraduate work at PSU in State College. Bell lives with his wife, Maryanne, and two young daughters in the Reading area.
