Royals Sign Forward Greg Wolfe

Royals Sign Forward Greg Wolfe

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed forward Greg Wolfe to an ECHL contract.

Wolfe (5’10/187) (23), who hails from Canton, Michigan, just completed his senior season at Michigan State University, where he led the team in scoring with thirty-one points (18g-13a) and sixteen penalty minutes in thirty-six games. Wolfe, who served as MSU’s team captain during his junior and senior seasons, received All-Big Ten Honorable Mention at the conclusion of this season. He was also selected as MSU’s representative for the Big Ten’s Sportsmanship Award which is bestowed upon student-athletes who distinguish themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. In 147 career games with the Spartans, Wolfe recorded eighty-nine points (35g-54a) and fifty-nine penalty minutes.

The Royals return to action tonight (Saturday, March 29 @ 7:05 pm) when the team travels to First Arena in Elmira, New York. Saturday’s game night broadcast will kick off at 6:35 pm et on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 with the Highmark Blue Shield Warm-Up Show. As with all Royals’ road games this year, Saturday’s game will be televised live locally in Berks County, Pennsylvania on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations.
