Goaltender Riley Gill Returned to Reading

Goaltender Riley Gill Returned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Riley Gill has been returned by the Bears to the Royals. Reading also released goaltender Braely Torris from his Amateur Tryout Agreement.

Gill was called up to Hershey on Wednesday. He did not appear with the Bears during this stint in the AHL. Gill has compiled a 16-11-0-1 with a 2.49 goals against average and .918 save percentage in twenty-nine appearances for the Royals. He has appeared in three games for Hershey, going 2-0-1 with a 1.66 GAA and .948 save percentage. Torris, who hails from Red Deer, Alberta, just completed his season at Neumann College where he went 13-4-2, with a 1.85 goals against average and a .942 save percentage with four shutouts.

The Royals return to action tonight (Friday, March 14 @ 7:00 pm) when the team travels to WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, to face the Wheeling Nailers. Friday’s game night broadcast will kick off at 6:30 pm on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 with the Highmark Blue Shield Warm-Up Show. As with all Royals’ road games, Wednesday’s game will be televised locally in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations.
