Royals Congratulate Defenseman Julien Brouillette On First NHL Game

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, take this opportunity to congratulate defenseman Julien Brouillette, who made his NHL debut last night as a member of the Capitals in the team’s 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Brouillette played 15:02 of ice time, recorded an assist—along with former Royal Patrick Wey—on the Capitals’ second goal (by Tom Wilson), which tied the game at two 3:38 into the third period, and played to a plus-2 (+2).

Brouillette played one game for Reading last season, a 3-1 loss to the Trenton Titans on October 17, 2012. Brouillette is the twenty-fifth player to log time with the Royals and then advance to the NHL.

The Royals return to action tomorrow night (Saturday, February 8 @ 7:05 pm) when the Wheeling Nailers will visit Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania, and the Royals will honor the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Inc., with an appearance from wrestling legend George ‘The Animal’ Steele. That night, the Royals will also host the Saturday Night Shoot for Cash presented by Diamond Credit Union. The game night broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 will kick off with the Highmark Blue Shield Warm-Up Show at 6:35 pm ET on the Royals Broadcast Network.
