Goaltender Riley Gill Loaned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Riley Gill has been loaned to the Royals. In a separate transaction, the Capitals recalled goaltender Brandon Anderson from Reading and assigned him to Hershey. In another transaction undertaken today, the Royals signed Josh Watson as the team’s emergency back-up goaltender.

Gill, a fourth year pro from Northfield, Minnesota, had been recalled by Hershey from Reading on November 30. He did not appear in any games for the Bears while with Hershey. In nine games with Reading, he has compiled a 6-3-0-0 record with a 2.20 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. This is the first recall of the season for Anderson, a second year pro from Langley, British Columbia. He appeared in the last four consecutive games for Reading. Overall in nine games with the Royals, he has a 4-4-1-0 record with a 3.00 goals against average and a .884 save percentage. This is the third stint as a EBG for Watson with the Royals.

The Royals return to action tonight (Friday, December 13, 2013 @ 7:05 pm) when the Florida Everblades make their only appearance of the year at Santander Arena in Reading, Pennsylvania.  The first 2000 fans that night 15 years of age and older will get a Royals’ ice-scraper courtesy of CJs Tire and Automotive Service. As with all Friday night home games, the Royals will offer the Mama Lucia Royal Feast Friday, when $25.00 gets you a ticket to the game and an all-u-can-eat buffet of meatball sandwiches, hot dogs, macaroni salad, potato salad, chips, pretzels, cookies, and your choice of lemonade or ice tea—all of which is served in “The Corner” below Section 109 inside the Sovereign Center. Friday’s game night broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 will kick off with the Highmark Blue Shield Warm-Up Show at 6:35 pm.
