Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has released defenseman Brad Walch from his ECHL contract. The team also released defenseman Brock Sawyer and goaltenders Shawn Sirman and Ryan Klingensmith from their ECHL Tryout Agreements.
Fans are reminded that the Royals take on the Wheeling Nailers at the Sovereign Center in Pre-Season Game Number One this Friday (October 11 @ 7:05 pm). The Royals’ have partnered with the Reading Eagle to invite everyone to attend this game for FREE! Fans can gain admission to the Royals’ home pre-season game by simply presenting the coupon that is currently running in the Reading Eagle. Pre-Season Game Two is set for Saturday, October 12, when the Royals will travel to First Arena in Elmira, New York, where they will take on the Elmira Jackals (7:05 pm).
The Royals kick off the defense of the team’s 2013 Kelly Cup Championship on Saturday, October 19, 2013, (7:35 pm), at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, with the 2013-14 season opener against the South Carolina Stingrays.
