Forward Evan Barlow Returns to Reading

Fourth Year Pro Who Had Ten Points in Four Games with Royals Has Been in AHL since Late November

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward Evan Barlow has been returned to Reading from the San Antonio Rampage of the AHL. In a separate transaction, Barlow, who was added to the Royals playoff roster, was placed on the team’s ECHL playoff Reserve List. Barlow (5’9/184) (27), a fourth year pro from Strathmore, Alberta, began the season with the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL, where he recorded five points (2g-3a) and eight penalty minutes in nine games. The Royals acquired Barlow on November 15, 2012, in a trade that sent forward Jesse Todd (along with future considerations) to the Bulls. Barlow promptly racked up ten points (4g-6a)—and played to a plus-10 (+10)—in a span of four games with the Royals. On November 24, 2012, Barlow was loaned to Hershey where he registered five points (2g-3a) and twelve penalty minutes in twenty AHL games. On March 6, Barlow was returned to the Royals from the Bears; but he was immediately loaned to San Antonio where he remained through the completion of the regular season on Sunday. In twenty games with the Rampage, he scored two goals, assisted on five others (seven points) and picked up twenty-seven penalty minutes. The Royals and Florida Everblades play Game Three of the best of seven Eastern Conference Semi-Finals on Wednesday, April 24 @ 7:30 pm at Germain Arena in Estero, Florida. Wednesday’s game night broadcast on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 fm will kick off with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Steve Moyer Subaru at 7:00 pm.
