Veteran Netminder Returns for Second Stint this Season with Reading
Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the Royals have signed goaltender Nick Niedert to an ECHL contract. The Royals also activated forward David Civitarese from the team’s Reserve List. This is the second stint in Reading for Niedert (5’8/185) (30), an eighth year pro from Hudson, Iowa. In addition to the Royals, Niedert has been with five teams in four different leagues, including stints with the Orlando Solar Bears (did not appear) and Gwinnett Gladiators (0-3-0-0, 3.68, .825 in four appearances) in the ECHL.
