Forward Kirk MacDonald Returned from Houston to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed forward Robbie Bourdon to an Amateur Tryout Agreement. In a separate transaction, forward Kirk MacDonald has been returned to the Royals from the Houston Aeros of the AHL. In another transaction previously completed, forward T.J. Syner was recalled to Hershey. Bourdon (5’10/174) (22), who hails from Ilse Bizard, Quebec, just completed his senior season at Colgate University where he was second on the team in scoring with twenty-seven points (10g-17a) in thirty-five games with the Raiders. In 150 career games at Colgate, Bourdon recorded ninety-nine points (43g-56a) and 101 penalty minutes. MacDonald, a sixth year pro from Victoria, British Columbia, was loaned to the Aeros on February 5. He picked up four penalty minutes in four games with Houston. In forty-three games with the Royals this season, MacDonald has thirty-two points (13g-19a) and fifty-two penalty minutes. For Syner, a first year pro from Springfield, Massachusetts, this marks the fifth time he has been recalled from Reading to Hershey. He became the eleventh player in Royals team history to record a five point game (3-g-2a) in the Royals 7-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers on Wednesday. Syner has nineteen points (9g-10a) in sixteen games with the Royals this season. In thirty-four games with the Bears this year, Syner has recorded seven points (3g4a) and fifteen penalty minutes. The Royals take on the Elmira Jackals tonight (March 15 @ 7:05 pm) at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, when the first 2500 fans will receive a team trading card set courtesy of Rieck’s Printing.
