Royals Also Sign Goaltender Corey Milan - Sergey Kostenko Recalled from Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that forward T.J. Syner has been loaned by the Bears to the Royals. In a separate transaction, goaltender Sergey Kostenko was recalled from Reading by Hershey. In other transactions undertaken today, the Royals (i) signed goaltender Corey Milan to an ECHL contract; and (ii) activated goaltender Brandon Anderson from the team’s Reserve List. In separate transactions previously completed, the Royals activated defenseman Bryant Molle from the 21-Day Injured Reserve; and placed forward Alex Berry was placed on 21-Day Injured Reserve. This marks the fourth trip to Reading for Syner, a first year pro from Springfield, Massachusetts. Syner, who has recorded nine points (3g-6a) in eight games with the Royals, is riding a five game point streak with Reading (2g-4a=6pts). In thirty-three games with the Bears this year, Syner has registered seven points (3g-4a) and fifteen penalty minutes. Kostenko, a first year pro from Moscow, Russia, has compiled a 2-1-1-1 record with a 4.01 goals against average and a .869 save percentage in six appearances with the Royals this season. Milan (5’10/173) (26), a second year pro from Great Barrington, Massachusetts, played 31 total games with three teams in the Southern Professional Hockey League last season, compiling an overall record of 11-13-4. Prior to turning pro, Milan played four seasons at Union College, where he was named to the All-ECACH All-Rookie Team after his freshman season. During his stint at Union, Milan, who established a team record with nineteen wins in his sophomore season, compiled an overall record of 35-29-12. The Royals return to action tonight (Thursday, February 21 @ 7:05 pm), when the Kalamazoo Wings make their final trip to the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.
