Forwards Alex Berry and Stanislav Galiev and Defenseman Brett Flemming Return to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the Capitals have assigned forward Stanislav Galiev, defenseman Brett Flemming and goaltender Brandon Anderson from the Bears to the Royals. In another transaction, the Bears loaned forward Alex Berry to Reading. In a transaction previously undertaken, the Royals loaned goaltender Drew MacIntyre to the Bears. The Royals also (i) activated Dustin Stevenson from the Reserve List; and (ii) placed forward Julien Cayer and defenseman Brock Shelgren on the team’s Reserve List. For Berry, a third year pro from Danvers, Massachusetts, this is his third stint in Reading. In fifteen games with the Royals, he’s registered eleven points (5g-6a) and thirty penalty minutes. Berry has four points (2g-2a) and forty penalty minutes with the Bears this season. This is the fifth trip to Reading for Flemming, a second year pro who was born in Regina, Saskatchewan. Flemming has ten points (2g-8a) and fifty-six penalty minutes in thirty four games with Reading. He has played three games with Hershey without registering any points or penalty minutes. This is the third time that Galiev has been assigned to the Royals. A first year pro from Moscow, Russia, Galiev has thirteen points (6g-7a) and twelve penalty minutes in twelve games with Reading. In seventeen games with Hershey he has one assist and eight penalty minutes. Anderson, a first year pro from Langley, British Columbia, began the season with Reading, compiling a 4-3-0-0 record with a 3.57 goals against average and .870 save percentage with one shutout in seven appearances with the Royals prior to being recalled by the Capitals on December 9, 2012. While with the Royals, MacIntyre, a tenth year pro from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, has compiled a record of 2-1-0-0 with a 1.76 goals against average and a .942 save percentage. He has yet to play in the AHL this season. The Royals complete a four game road trip this morning (11:00 am) (Wednesday, January 16), at Sun National Bank Arena in Trenton, New Jersey, against the Trenton Titans. The game day broadcast will kick off on CBS Sports Radio 1240 am and 98.5 fm at 10:30 am with the Pre-Game Warm-Up Show presented by Steve Moyer Subaru.
