Washington Capitals Also Reassign Defenseman Brett Flemming to Hershey
Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that the Capitals have recalled forward Stanislav Galiev from Reading and reassigned him to Hershey. In a separate transaction previously completed, the Capitals recalled defenseman Brett Flemming from the Royals and reassigned him to the Bears. For Galiev, a first year pro from Moscow, Russia, this will be his third stint in Hershey. In nine games with the Bears, he has registered one assist and six penalty minutes—as well as a shootout deciding goal. In twelve games with the Royals, Galiev has scored six goals, assisted on seven others (thirteen points) and played to a plus-8 (+8). His goals have included a highlight-reel-quality breakaway that ended up on ESPN SportsCenter’s Top Ten for December 6, as well as his first professional hattrick on December 15 against the Orlando Solar Bears. His goals that night included the ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ goal for the Royals and his second game winner of the year. For Flemming, this is his second trip to Hershey. He has played in one game so far with the Bears without registering any points or penalty minutes. In twenty-six games with the Royals, Flemming has nine points (1g-8a) and fifty-two penalty minutes. The Royals return to the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, this Friday (December 21 @ 7:05 pm) when the Gwinnett Gladiators make their first trip of the year to Reading.
