Rookie’s Second Goal As a Royal Earns Slot In ESPN SportsCenter Top Ten Plays
Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today note that the goal scored by Stan Galiev in Wednesday’s 4-2 victory over the Florida Everblades at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, was celebrated today as one of the Top Ten Plays of the Day by ESPN’s SportsCenter. The breakaway goal scored at the 15:53 mark of the third period was selected as Number Nine in the top plays sequence. The goal by Galiev, a first year pro from Moscow, Russia, was his second as a Royal in seven games played with the team. The Royals thank the ECHL, the team’s fans, and hockey fans everywhere—as well as the efforts of Marketing Coordinator Andrew Capizzi—for the support needed to make this recognition possible.
