Second Year Defenseman Makes Second Trip to the Sharks
Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Denny Urban has been loaned to the Worcester Sharks of the AHL. This marks Urban’s second trip to Worcester this season. In his first stint with the Sharks, he recorded an assist in Worcester’s 5-4 win over the Providence Bruins on December 21. Urban, a second year pro from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, sparked a three goal third period comeback win for the Royals yesterday over the Trenton Titans with his team leading thirteenth goal of the year. Urban’s twenty-six points (13g-13a) in thirty-one games with Reading leads all defensemen in the ECHL. The Royals take the New Year holiday off before traveling to First Arena in Elmira, New York, where the team will take on the Elmira Jackals on Friday, January 4 @ 7:05 pm. As with all Royals road games this season, Friday’s game will be televised locally in Berks County on BCTV courtesy of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations. The Game Night Broadcast kicks off at 6:35 pm on ESPN Radio (1240 am and 98.5 fm).
