Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations Sponsor Third Season of Royals TV in Berks County via America ONE Sports

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, Berks Community Television (BCTV), America ONE Sports, Boscov’s Travel, and Apple Vacations today jointly announced the renewal of the partnership to televise Royals’ road games during the 2012-2013 season on BCTV. Royals TV presented by Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations will launch its third season with the Royals’ opener on Friday, October 12, 2012 (7:05 pm), which will be televised live from First Arena in Elmira, New York, where the Royals will face the Elmira Jackals. Royals TV will carry all but one of the team’s thirty-six regular season away games, as well as all road playoff games, on BCTV cable channels throughout Berks County, Pennsylvania. Fans in Berks County can tune in to BCTV on Comcast Reading Cable Channel 2 and Service Electric Cable Channel 19; and BCTV has also recently expanded coverage to eastern Berks County on Comcast Southern Berks Channel 965. The televised feed, which will be provided by America ONE Sports, will include the simulcast of the Royals Radio Network audio feed courtesy of Cumulus Media, Inc. and ESPN Radio 1240 am and 98.5 fm in Reading. The lone road game for the Royals that will not be televised on BCTV this season will be the team’s game against the Wheeling Nailers on Friday, October 26, when BCTV will be hosting the station’s annual October Fest Auction. However, BCTV will not only telecast all other Friday night games, but also will replay each of those Friday night road games on the following Saturday morning @ 9:00 am. All Saturday night road games will be broadcasted live and also be replayed on the following Sunday morning @ 9:00 am. “We’re thrilled that our fans are going to be able to watch Royals road games on television for the third consecutive season,” said Royals’ General Manager Mark Wallace. “Every season, the production quality of the telecasts has improved, and we’re seeking to add a few new wrinkles this season to continue our growth in this medium. Of course, we would not be able to televise our games without the continuing support of Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations, as well as the energy and effort of the management and staff at BCTV. We also want to thank once again our radio partner, Cumulus Media and ESPN Radio, for permitting the simulcast of the game night radio broadcast.” Ann Sheehan, the Executive Director of BCTV, stated, “We’re once again looking forward to being able to bring Royals’ hockey to our viewers in Berks County. The feedback that we have received from the community on this coverage has been overwhelmingly positive. We’re happy to be part of this successful partnership with the Royals, Boscov’s Travel and Apple Vacations.” “Boscov’s Travel is excited to partner with Apple Vacations this season to bring Royals hockey to Berks County on BCTV,” stated Janet Papilla, the Vice-President of Boscov’s Travel. “Here at Boscov’s Travel, we always say that we love to help fans set up their plans to travel with the team; but for fans who can’t make the road trip, Royals TV is the best way to stay up with all the hockey action.” The Royals open the 2012-13 regular season in Elmira, New York, on Friday, October 12, 2012, when the team will take on the Elmira Jackals at 7:05 pm. The next night, Saturday, October 13, 2012, the Royals open the home season when the Trenton Titans visit the Sovereign Center at 7:05 pm.
