MEET THE ICE ANGELS

Coach Karena:

My name is Karena and I have been involved with the Reading Royals Ice Angels organization since the first season in 2018. I joined as one of the dancers, which led into being the assistant coach, team supporter and now currently the coach for the 2023-24 season. My passion and experience for dance, I could talk about for days, however I will try to be brief! Before the Ice Angels I had performed since I was 4 years old, including all types of different styles, as well as cheerleading. My favorite overall style was lyrical/contemporary and Pom routines. I was apart of Turning Pointe Dance Studio my younger years, and then I ended at Academy of Movement. I had the pleasure of being involved with the Cheer FX all star cheer team and the Reading Fightin Phils junior dance team. In addition to performing over the years, I assisted coaching junior cheer teams, and dance classes ages 4-10. Outside of dance, I have a career in banking and enjoy traveling. Usually my travels include Disney World, but I hope to experience many new places in the coming years. I am a dog mom and cat mom to my dog Luna and cat Figaro (yes, as in Figaro from Pinocchio)

I am truly thankful for the Reading Royals organization to have started the Ice Angels team. This brings so much joy to myself and many others that are still looking for a way to be involved with dance, cheerleading and the community!

Captain Katelyn:

My name is Katelyn and I have been with the Reading Royals since 2019. I have been co-captain for the past 3 seasons. I have been dancing since I was 5 years old. I stopped for a while and it felt wonderful to get back to doing what I love. I love all different styles of dance! Outside of dance, I have a career in HVAC and I just bought a house with my soon to be husband and my adorable, lovable puppy Bentley. I love to paint, sing, cook, and go on walks with Bentley. I am so thankful for the royals organization for not only bringing me wonderful friends who have turned into family, but also all of the fans who I have grown close to!

Captain Andria:

Hey Royals Nation, I am Ice Angel Andria! This is my sixth season as a Reading Royals Ice Angel and fourth year returning as captain. I am born and raised in Reading, PA and have been a competitive dancer and cheerleader for 25 years! I am trained in various styles of dance, however I specialize in hip hop and jazz, which are my favorite styles. I previously danced on the Reading Junior Fightin’ Phils Dance Team and the Junior Reading Express Steam Team before becoming a member of the Reading Royals Ice Angels in its premiere season. I graduated from Temple University in 2017, earning my bachelor’s degree in Public Health. I also graduated from Reading Area Community College in 2020 earning my Nursing degree. I am extremely passionate about my career as a labor and delivery nurse and take pride in providing compassionate care for my patients and their families. While currently working as a registered nurse, I teach hip hop and jazz classes at the Academy of Movement.

Some of my hobbies outside of work and dance include training in the gym, cooking with my family, sneaker shopping, spending time with my loved ones, and traveling.

I am beyond excited to be returning to the Ice Angels and create more memories with all the dedicated Royals fans. Our team has become a family over the years and I am so thankful to have built bonds and friendships that will last a lifetime. Performing has always been a huge part of my life and thanks to this organization and community, I can continue doing so in my hometown of Reading!

Go Royals!

Kayley:

My name is Kayley. I am currently a freshman at the University of Delaware majoring in biomedical engineering with the hope to get my masters of science in robotics to work in the field of prosthetics. This year is my 17th year dancing, participating in a variety of styles including tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, contemporary, lyrical, musical theater, jazz funk, and salsa. I have participated in dance competitions and have a national champion title for my hip hop duet with my older sister. I have also served as an assistant choreographer for both the middle and high school musical productions at Muhlenberg School District. Other than dance, I participate in the University of Delaware marching band and have played basketball and softball in high school. My grandparents have been season ticket holders at the Royals since the beginning and I have been coming out to support these boys from a very young age. When the Ice Angels started, I looked up to those girls and dreamed to be one of them, now here we are! I am super excited to be a part of the 2023-24 Ice Angels Team! Go Royals!

Stephanie:

Hi Royals Fans! I am so excited to be returning as an Ice Angel for my third season. I love to dance and cheer, and have been doing both throughout my life. Prior to being an ice angel, I was a cheerleader for four years at Wilson High School and also my freshman year at Penn State University. I am a fifth grade math and science teacher at a Lancaster County school district, where I also coordinate my school's Mini-THON, raising money for childhood cancer. I am finishing the process of getting my master's degree through Penn State and will be graduating in May. In my free time I enjoy going to the beach, watching football, and snuggling with my dog Daisy. I look forward to meeting fans, dancing, and cheering on the team throughout this season. Let's go Royals!

Hello!! My name is Jess and this is my third year dancing for the Ice Angels. I have been dancing almost my whole life since I was about 3 years old and have taught dance on and off for a few years as well. A fun fact about me is that at the same time as my dance career I also have a background as the captain of my high school color guard team and college rugby team! I’m so excited to be back and here’s to another great season!

Victoria:

Hey Royals fans! My name is Victoria and I’m returning for my third year as an Ice Angel! Before I had the honor of dancing at Santander Arena with my fellow angels, I was a dancer for my university’s dance team and performing dance company. I was also a dancer for the Lancaster Barnstormers baseball team and was a cheerleader from elementary through high school. When I’m not dancing, I love crafting, playing with my english shepherd puppy, and spending time with friends and family. I’ve spent the past five years as a public accountant, which means I’ll be ‘count’ing on you to cheer on the Royals all season long!
