Royals Encourage Fans to Join Us for a Week of Community Fun!

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL encourage everyone to join the team in a busy and exciting week of holiday fun and activities. Beginning next Monday (July 3) and continuing through Saturday (July 8), members of the organization will be out every evening at the Greater Governor Mifflin Community Days meeting and greeting fans—and giving away goodies—at the team’s booth every night from 5:30 pm – 10:00 pm.

Fans are also encouraged to attend, cheer, and catch the candy from members of the Royals’ staff and the best (candy) arm in the basis—Slapshot—at the Wyomissing Fourth of July Parade, which kicks off at 10 am and winds its way through the streets through the streets of Wyomissing on Independence Day.

The week of appearances and activities at Mifflin Community Days includes an opportunity for everyone to take a spin and WIN a PRIZE on the Royals’ Amazing Prize Wheel on Tuesday (July 4) from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. The next night (Wednesday, July 5), from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, bedlam will rule the day when the mascots and particularly Slapshot take control of the Royals’ booth. On Thursday (July 6) from 6:30 – 7:30 pm, fans will have their first opportunity to meet and speak with the Royals’ newly minted Assistant Coach—four-time pro champion Patrick Wellar. The Royals will then close out the week with an appearance by one of last season’s favorite players and, of course, our local hero, Steven Swavely, on Friday from 6:30 – 7:30 pm. Everyone’s also invited to join the Royals on Saturday night to enjoy the annual show-stopping finale fireworks at dark.

The Royals are excited for the upcoming week of community fun and activity, and we encourage everyone to stay tuned to the Royals Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/ReadingRoyals/) page for additional information on the upcoming week.
