Goaltender Martin Ouellette Loaned to Reading

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Martin Ouellette has been loaned to Reading from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League.

This marks the ninth time that Ouellette, a second year pro from Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, has been loaned to Reading from the Phantoms. He was most recently recalled from the Royals to Lehigh Valley on March 20. Despite losing his first game with the Phantoms during this stint in the AHL, he has won his last five in a row for Lehigh Valley—the last two by shutout, which included a 40 save 4-0 win over the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins last night. In nine games with the Phantoms, Ouellette has compiled a record of 5-3-0-0 with a 2.36 goals against average and a .933 save percentage. In thirty games with the Royals, he has gone 17-9-3-0 with a 2.07 goals against average (third best in the league), a .923 save percentage and four shutouts. He is currently riding a six game win and a seven game unbeaten streak (6-0-1-0) in the ECHL with Reading. Ouellette has gone 9-1-1-0 in his last eleven games with the Royals—and 14-2-1-0 in his last seventeen decisions in the ECHL and AHL.

The Royals return home to Santander Arena tonight (Saturday, April 9 @ 7:00 pm) for the final game of the 2015-16 regular season when the team will face the Nailers for the eleventh and final time of the regular season. The Royals will celebrate “FANdemonium” with prize giveaways for fans at every stoppage in play. The Zooperstars will also be at Santander Arena, which ought to raise the “whacky-antics” factor rather considerably. The game night broadcast for Saturday’s matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:30 pm Eastern Time.
