Weather Permitting, Kelly Cup Celebrants Set to Fly into Reading on Monday, August 19, 6:30 PM at SPAC
Reading, PA – The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, take this opportunity to remind fans about the team’s annual Town Hall Meeting on Monday, August 19, 2013, from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm inside the Sovereign Performing Arts Center (136 North Sixth Street) in Reading, Pennsylvania.
The Royals are also pleased to note that we are anticipating a couple of special guests who are expected to join—or perhaps ignite—the party on Monday. We do have to note, however, that the arrival of special guests is ‘weather permitting’—and, knowing our luck with the weather (see, e.g. snow in October and/or Hurricane Sandy, etc…), we’ve got all of our fingers (and toes) crossed into one big Gordian Knot. We’re also expecting a new member of the Royals’ team—think local (act global)—to join us for the Town Hall Meeting.
The Royals take this opportunity to remind fans that the doors at SPAC will open at 6:00 pm for persons attending the Town Hall Meeting, who can park free of charge (starting at 5:30 pm) at the Poplar and Walnut Parking Garage courtesy of the Reading Parking Authority.
This season’s Town Hall Meeting will feature representatives of the Hershey Bears, including broadcaster and media relations director, Scott Stuccio, the Royals’ general manager Mark Wallace, and head coach Larry Courville, who will address the Town Hall crowd and open the floor to questions from fans. Of course, we expect Miss Kelly to make an appearance for all of those who would like to take a good look at her before the Royals begin the team’s quest to keep her around for another year.
A number of pertinent topics will be addressed during this season’s Town Hall Meeting, including the current state of the ECHL, the Royals’ schedule, the current roster, pending player personnel decisions, the organization’s broadcast plans, and several new and interesting elements in the promotional schedule. The Royals never want anyone to leave empty-handed, so the team will have several drawings for prizes—including a bunch of NHL goodies from the Washington Capitals—for those in attendance; and, of course, we anticipate a bevy of Royals’ championship merchandise available for purchase.
