For fifty years Jack Gulati has been a serial entrepreneur. Currently he owns two ECHL Hockey teams; the Reading Royals and the Allen Americans. However, at all times, he has always kept business and family in focus and has learned to balance both for ultimate success. There is something in his DNA that just does not allow him to retire. Therefore, he came out of retirement and in April, 2014 he bought the Reading Royals, most recently in February 2017 he bought Allen Americans, located in Allen Texas, a Dallas suburb. Both of these teams play in professional ECHL Hockey League.
In 1988, Jack established Fidelity Technologies in Reading. By 2004 Fidelity had grown to 225 employees, and he sold the company to his three sons. Under their leadership the company has continued to expand.
1993, he acquired Swiss-based TeleAlarm SA. By 2006, this company had become the second largest provider of health care systems for the elderly living at home in Europe. Then Jack sold TeleAlarm to Bosch Healthcare, of Germany.
In December, 2011 he turned over Stokesay Castle, along with three other companies to his three sons and retired for the third time. In 2015 they bought Sunnybrook, a large Restaurant and Banquet facility in Pottstown, PA.
Over the years Jack has served in numerous civic and advisory positions. He was appointed to the Small Business Advisory Committee of FCC by President George H. W. Bush. He was also a delegate to the 1986 and 1995 White House Conferences on Small Business appointed by Presidents Reagan and Clinton. He served as chairman of the National Federation of Independent Businesses of Pennsylvania. He was Chairman of the Board of Township Supervisors in Upper Merion Township, Pennsylvania. In 1993 and 1994, he was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Central Pennsylvania. Jack is a 1966 graduate of the University of Minnesota, College of Liberal Arts, with a degree in Mathematics. In 2014 Jack received the distinction of being an Alumni of Notable Achievement Award, Of the 148,000 living graduates, approximately 1,300 have been selected for this award.
